CONGREGATIONAL CARE

CD Ministry

  • CD's of the 11:00 service are copied and distributed to homebound members who request them.

College Ministry

  • College students receive cards and goodie packages from FPC four times a year under the guidance of CCC.

Correspondence

  • Notes are sent to visitors and other people in need of cheer by the correspondence secretary of the Congregational Care Committee.

Fellowship

  • Congregational Care provides fellowship opportunities for the congregation with special meals on Wednesday nights, Sunday lunches, and other times throughout the year. This committee oversees the Wednesday Night Together meals and theme dinners as well as the coffee bar in the Fellowship Hall.

Kirk Fellowship

  • Senior members meet the fourth Tuesday of September, October, November, and January at a local restaurant for lunch and fellowship. Occasionally there may a trip out of town to dine at a favorite restaurant, perhaps to visit a former member or to see a play. Other out-of-town trips may include visits to museums and gardens. Contact: Eva Ruth at evaruth@fpclumberton.org for more information.

Prayer List

  • The church maintains a prayer list for members and friends of the congregation. The list is distributed at worship, in Sunday School classes, and in Bible Studies. Members are encouraged to pray for those on our list during their devotional times.
  • If you wish to be added to the prayer list or to receive an e-mail distribution list about the well-being and concerns of members and friends, as well as announcements, please contact the church secretary via email at kristin@fpclumberton.org.

Prayer Shawl Ministry

  • Prayer shawls are knit by members of the congregation and sent to those in special need of prayer along with a card and prayer. Blankets are also knit for babies when they are baptized.

Transportation

  • The church bus, driven by volunteers, provides transportation to worship services for members living in retirement centers.
  • Some members living at home depend on others for rides to and from church and fellowship activities. They may also need rides for shopping and medical appointments. Members with cars regularly offer rides to church for non-drivers.

Visitation Ministry

  • In conjunction with the minister, someone from the CCC visits with homebound members and others in need of a visit each month. They also assist with the distribution of our Visitor Packets.
